SPOTLIGHT: POND Network student scientist
Jonathan Lai, a PhD candidate at McMaster University, presented an important study on the genetics of Fragile X mice. A Lillian Rose Stegne Memorial Stipend made it possible for Jonathan to attend the 2013 Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA to present his paper:
Lai JKY, Ellegood J, Rilett KC, MacKenzie RN, Henkelman RM, Lerch JP, Foster JA (2013) Behaviour and Brain Anatomy in Fragile X Mice.
Jonathan, whose thesis, “Neurodevelopmental Outcomes in Fragile X Mice” was the basis of the paper, is a student of Dr. Jane Foster, a POND Network scientist. His co-investigators included other POND scientists: Dr. Jason Lerch and Dr. Jacob Ellegood of Toronto Sick Kids, and Dr. Laurie Doering and Dr. Paul Faure, of McMaster University. In addition to his funding from the Ontario Brain Institute – POND, Jonathan is also the recipient of the multiple awards, grants, and scholarships.
