The POND clinical trials network is an alliance of several Ontario clinical research centres with expertise in neurodevelopmental disorders. These groups are cooperating in the design and conduct of clinical trials whose goals are to predict and describe the shared biology and response to treatment of children with ASD, ADHD, ID, and OCD. A clinical trials network helps ensure that all testing is done in the same way and that multiple aspects of the disorders, such as cognitive function or physiological processes, are assessed and analyzed by experts in those fields. There is also centralized administration, which can improve efficiency and reduce costs.
